The Denton Community Band does not charge members any fees or dues to participate! Band members are encouraged, but not required, to purchase a white button-down shirt with the band logo embroidered on it to wear for performances.
Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7 PM until 9 PM in room 303 of First United Methodist Church, which is located at 201 South Locust Street in Denton, Texas 76201 (access from the Mulberry Street entrance at the intersection of East Mulberry Street and South Austin Street).
All band members are expected to attend. If you are unable to attend a rehearsal or performance, please let Carol Lynn know. She can be reached at (940) 367-6411 or carollynn.mizell@gmail.com.
No rehearsals are scheduled between July 8 and September 1.
The Denton Community Band operates without regard to sex, race, national origin, marital status, age, political views or affiliation, religious views or affiliation, sexual orientation, disability, or other factor unrelated to the support of the band's mission and purpose. Members of DCB are expected to maintain satisfactory attendance at rehearsals, performances and other activities; demonstrate continuing musical competence; perform all of the pieces selected to be performed by the group (unless the objection is religious in nature), conduct themselves with collegial and respectful demeanor towards the band, its members, conductors and guests; and abide by any other requirements and regulations stated in the Bylaws and Operating Procedures or otherwise issued by the Conductor and Officers. Any member who expects to be absent from the activities of the band for an extended period of time is asked to let Carol Lynn or one of the Officers know. By a majority vote of the Conductor and Officers, an individual may be removed from the band for failure to meet the above expectations.
Members are encouraged to wear clothing that is comfortable but still appropriate to be seen in a church during rehearsals.
Unless it is a pre-approved prop for a performance, no hat may be worn indoors!
Members are expected to wear white, long sleeve button-down shirts and blacks slacks for performances. Shirts with the DCB logo can be purchased through Carol Lynn but are not required.
Unless it is a pre-approved prop for a performance, no hat may be worn indoors.
In addition to concert attire, members are encouraged to wear red and white Santa hats.
